Glass Orchid Creations is the online home of both my handmade glass beads and wire art jewelry, all hand made by me, Corinne.
My handmade glass beads are made in the tradition of Lampworking: The art of making glass beads and small sculptures, forming them with gravity, physics and simple tools, over an open torch. Although some of the tools have gotten fancier, this is essentially the same art as has been practiced for hundreds of years!
As an extension of making unique, one of a kind beads, I also offer hand sculpted, wire pendents featuring either my own beads or, occasionally, interesting cabochons. I usually work in Sterling Silver wire, but would make gold-filled items upon request. As you can see, it takes an interesting bead and elevates it to a whole new level of art.
