Artist's Notes
Color, form, and design have always fascinated me. I have searched in many places for my artistic calling, always looking for that medium that would suck me in, and hypnotize me; where it is the process that satisfies my soul and the final artwork becomes a bi-product of my own contentment.
Well, from the first time I melted a rod of glass in the flame of a torch, I was hooked... This form of art is called lampworking and I feel like I have only just begun exploring how to control molten glass as you wind it onto a steel mandrel to create miniature works of art. Then, as if that weren't enough, the things you can do with those beads ... add some sterling silver and a little design flair and the results are amazing!
As I am expanding out into jewelry design, I am reminded of what a very wise hobbit named Bilbo once said "It's a dangerous business, going out your front door. You step into the Road, and if you don't keep your feet, there is no knowing where you might be swept off to."
So Mom and Dad, honest now, did you ever see you $100 birthday gift leading here?
Welcome to my contentment!
